Mark is the GM of Escalator - Assessing and grooming over 300+ Investment Ready companies each year. Mark runs the training services offered by Escalator.
Marks talent and passion is shaping businesses for growth, with effective strategy, business communications and governance.
He is a founding member of the NZ Angel Association council.
He is a dynamic public speaker and idea conduit; acting as an advisor and facilitator to many rising stars. His “SuccinctStories.com” methodology uses inspiring concise messages to anchor customer needs to brand, culture and business strategy; improving business strategy clarity and ultimate business performance.
Mark is a high-energy person with a balance of business, marketing and technical skills that enables him to be an effective business strategist and change agent. His career has spanned electronic and software design, through to corporate management, international marketing, business consulting and capital raising.
Highlights of Mark’s career include:
• Taking a significant role in the building of a $32M per year technology business, from product concept through to trade sale.
• Leading the turn around of a Silicon Valley based loss making software business, improving base line profitability in excess of $3M.
• Facilitating transformational results with companies he has mentored and coached including the 15-20 start up companies under his guidance as GM of Creative HQ 2005/7.
• Leading the establishment of a regional Angel Investment Group, and re shaping a national programme to give companies access to Angel Investment
Along side his Escalator responsibilities Mark is also an independent director, facilitator and advisor to a number of companies.
His passion and commitment for success and taking on challenges is evident in his non–professional life where he is a fanatic mountain and road cyclist.
Mark rounded off his academic credentials attending the Stanford, CA Executive Program for Technology Management in 2001. With one of the highlights pitching to Guy Kawasaki.
